18th Annual Dishes for Wishes Culinary Fundraiser At National Orange Show Events Center

LOMA LINDA, CA- The Big Hearts for Little Hearts Loma Linda Guild proudly announces the 18th annual Dishes for Wishes event, a culinary benefit for the patients of Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH). It will be held Wednesday, October 11, at the National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino.

This year’s themed event, “Oldies but Goodies,” will feature boutique shopping, a colorful cooking demonstration emceed by Inland Empire celebrity chef Martha Green and a commemorative recipe book to take home.

The cooking demonstration will feature demonstrations from Najwa’s Mediterranean Cuisine, Tess’ Place and Clarkie’s Diner.

This event has strong community involvement, and food will be served by local law enforcement officials, firefighters and young men from Teen Challenge, all of whom will gladly accept tips to donate back to the hospital.

Funds raised this year will purchase two neonatal heart monitors and other equipment for the center.

Courtney B. Martin, DO, medical director of the Total Care Birth Center at LLUCH, and an attending physician in the department of obstetrics/gynecology, will be the guest speaker.

Doors open for shopping and socializing at 5:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 6 p.m.
