Atlanta hosted a larger-than-life field day event during the national kick-off event last weekend. SAN BERNARDINO, CA- Youth Action Project (YAP) is proud to host their first swearing-in ceremony for its new AmeriCorps Members on Friday, September 13 at 2:30 p.m. YAP will swear in 40 new AmeriCorps Members who will commit to one year of direct service that will focus on increasing literacy skills among San Bernardino area high school students. The community is invited to join them for the Swearing-In Ceremony where members will officially take their oath. San Bernardino County 3rd District Supervisor James Ramos will preside over the swearing in ceremony. SAN BERNARDINO, CA- Pacific High School will host the 23rd Annual College Night on Thursday, September 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the school’s campus located at 1020 Pacific Street, San Bernardino, CA 92404. There will be representatives from colleges, universities, community colleges, trade schools and the military present. College Night is open to all District students and their families. High school juniors and seniors are especially encouraged to attend. During the two-hour event, students and parents can learn about financial aid and meet with college representatives to learn about admissions requirements and course offerings. The San Bernardino Community Scholarship Association, with assistance from the District’s Communications/Community Relations Department, works with local individuals and businesses to offer hundreds of college scholarships to District graduates.
