Young Black Achievers March in Riverside Black History Parade

RIVERSIDE, CA – Centennial High School’s Young Black Achievers (YBA) participated in Riverside’s Black History Parade last Saturday, February 11, along with their advisors and youngsters mentored through their activities. Similar to Black Student Unions, YBA was created to promote cultural and community awareness, social enrichment and leadership, and to encourage academic excellence, self-pride, self-determination, self-empowerment and respect for all. YBA members must maintain a 3.0 or above grade point average and a good school attendance record (http://www.cnusd.k12.ca.us/Page/9361).
